Our Process

Crafting the Perfect Brew

Every bottle of Pop Cultures kombucha is a labour of love. Our process is rooted in traditional methods, with each stage of the brewing process founded upon a dedication to quality. Here’s how we create the bold, refreshing flavours you love:

Step 1

Selecting the Finest Ingredients

We believe that great kombucha begins with the finest ingredients. That’s why we source our tea from a local Brighton company and our honey from trusted beekeepers – we then flavour with the freshest fruits and spices. By avoiding refined sugars and artificial additives, we ensure every bottle is pure and packed with the goodness of nature. Sourcing locally also helps us support our community while delivering a taste that’s authentically Sussex.

Step 2

Brewing with Care

Our kombucha is fermented in small batches, the traditional way using charred oak barrels, adding a unique depth and richness to the brew. At the heart of the process is our carefully nurtured SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast), which transforms our brew into a probiotic-rich, tangy, and slightly effervescent drink. We give the fermentation process the time it needs to naturally balance sweetness and tang provided by the acetic acids developed during the fermentation stage.

Step 3

Infusing and Bottling

Once the kombucha is perfectly brewed, we infuse within glass jars to create our wonderful finished flavours. Each infusion is crafted with precision to create a balanced and refreshing taste. The final step is bottling in glass to preserve the fresh fermented flavours and add our iconic pop-art-inspired labels that celebrate the spirit of Brighton. Every bottle is a reflection of our commitment to quality, creativity, and community.
