What is Jun kombucha and how is it different from regular kombucha?
Jun kombucha is often called the 'champagne of kombucha' and uses green tea and honey to ferment, rather than black tea and refined sugar. This gives jun a silky, more delicate flavour profile that's generally less vinegary than traditional kombucha. The honey also adds natural enzymes and antimicrobial properties. Our Jun is brewed in oak barrels, which adds an extra smoothness and depth of flavour you won't find anywhere else.
Where do you deliver to and when?
We deliver across mainland UK (apart from parts of Scotland and NI). Because our Jun is a live, unpasteurised product, we mainly send orders Monday-Wednesday (occasionally Thursday) to ensure your bottles arrive fresh and spend minimal time in transit over the weekend. Orders are carefully packaged in sturdy boxes with protective inserts - our breakage rate is incredibly low. You'll receive tracking information once your order ships. If anything does arrive damaged, just email us photos within 24 hours and we'll sort it out immediately.
How long does Pop Cultures kombucha last?
Unopened bottles have a best before date of 4 months from production when stored in the fridge (check the date on the cap). Once opened, drink within 3-5 days for best flavour and fizz. Jun is a live product so it continues fermenting slowly - it becomes more tart over time but remains safe to drink.
Is your kombucha alcoholic?
Like all fermented drinks, our Jun contains trace amounts of alcohol (typically less than 0.5% ABV), which is below the legal threshold for alcoholic beverages in the UK. This is a natural byproduct of fermentation and is comparable to the alcohol content in ripe fruit or fresh bread. It's safe for most people, but if you're avoiding alcohol completely (pregnancy, medication, recovery), we'd recommend checking with your doctor first.
How fizzy is Pop Cultures kombucha?
Our Jun is naturally carbonated through fermentation, creating a gentle, elegant sparkle rather than sharp soda-style fizz. Carbonation develops over time, so bottles get fizzier as they approach their best before date - newer batches are more delicate, while more mature bottles have livelier bubbles.
Always store bottles refrigerated and only leave out temporarily if you want extra sparkle.
